How a Jewel.ai design becomes a real piece
From a described idea to a rendered concept, a deposit, and a jeweler-built custom — what happens at each step.
By The Jewel.ai team

From idea to concept
Every piece starts with a description — a gold lion pendant, a signet with your initials, a chain with a hidden clasp. The system reads the request, asks a few short questions where the brief is ambiguous, and renders concept images you can react to. Most people land on a direction within a few rounds of refining.
A concept, not a CAD file
The renders you see are visual concepts. They set the direction — form, stones, finish, proportions — but they are not manufacturing files. Your jeweler engineers the final piece: stone sizes that actually set, walls that actually cast, a bail that actually holds.
Sharing what matters
Once a concept feels right, you answer a few practical questions: what budget range fits, whether the piece should be solid or hollow, lab-grown or natural stones. None of this is a commitment — it gives the jeweler enough to engineer honestly instead of guessing.
The deposit and what it starts
The deposit is placed with the jewelry store, not with Jewel.ai. It starts CAD work: the store turns your concept into a manufacturable model and sends it back for your approval. After you approve the CAD, the store quotes materials and labor for the actual build — final totals always stay between you and your jeweler.
- 1DesignDescribe the piece, refine the concept renders until the direction is right.
- 2QualifyShare budget range and material preferences so the engineering is honest.
- 3DepositPay the store deposit to start CAD work on your piece.
- 4Approve and buildApprove the CAD, accept the quote, and the store makes the piece.
